Location: AUSTIN, TX Agency: Health & Human Services Comm Position: Auditor V – Audit Project Manager Posting Number: 12097 | Salary Group: TEXAS-B-27 | Salary: $7,015.16 – $11,864.50 per month Shift: Day | Full Time | Exempt | Telework Eligible | Travel: Up to 25% Brief Job Description Responsible for leading and managing complex audits within the Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) system as part of the Office of Inspector General (OIG) Audit and Inspections Division. The role involves planning, fieldwork, reporting, risk assessment, and client communication to detect fraud, waste, and abuse in Medicaid and other HHS programs. Essential Job Functions (EJFs) 1. Project Management (35%) Lead, supervise, and assign tasks in planning, completion, and review of all audit aspects. Monitor and track audit objectives within budgets and timelines. Communicate expectations, evaluate performance, and provide feedback to staff. 2. Communication (30%) Develop and present oral and written information, including audit status meetings, results, and recommendations. Prepare and review audit documentation in conformance with auditing standards. Lead report‑writing to clearly communicate audit results. Coach and mentor OIG staff on critical thinking, problem solving, and technical audit skills. 3. Audit Execution/Technical (25%) Assign and review audit team work ensuring that audit steps are completed and documentation is adequate. Provide written feedback and prepare projects for quality review. Ensure compliance with professional standards and OIG policies. Assess IT systems and controls as needed. 4. Other (10%) Perform additional duties such as serving on workgroups, delivering training, interviewing and selecting staff. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Knowledge of generally accepted government auditing standards, audit methods, IT/system controls, HHS and DFPS programs, and accounting principles. Skills in critical thinking, internal control assessment, risk identification, sampling, data analysis, audit criteria application, and audit procedure development. Skills in communicating complex technical information, project management, supervising and coaching, relationship building, and managing multiple projects. Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certifications One of the following certifications: CPA, CIA, CFE, CISA, CGFM, CIGA, CFA, or CGAP (obtained prior to 2018 or grandfathered). Initial Screening Criteria Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. At least three years of experience in auditing, IT/systems auditing, financial analysis, accounting, or related fields. Advanced degrees may substitute for one year of experience at the discretion of the hiring manager. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s or master’s degree with coursework in auditing, accounting, finance, IT, business administration, public policy, or related business area. Experience in performance auditing, public sector auditing (IT or financial), Single Audit Act compliance, cost accounting, budgeting in Texas government, or HHS and DFPS programs. #J-18808-Ljbffr
