Job Title: Inventory Clerk

Department: Supply Chain / Warehouse Operations

Reports To: Inventory Manager / Warehouse Supervisor

Shift: 2nd / 3rd Pay Rate: $16.50 (all shifts)

Times:

1. 2nd: 3pm – 1:30 am
2. 3rd: (1) 7 pm – 5:30 am, (1) 10 pm – 8:30 am

Role Overview

As an Inventory Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring our fresh produce and packaging materials are accurately tracked, rotated, and accounted for. Because we work with highly perishable goods, your attention to detail and ability to monitor inventory levels in real-time will directly impact our ability to deliver fresh products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily Inventory Counts: Perform daily cycle counts and physical inventory checks of raw produce, finished salads, and packaging materials.
• Data Entry & Tracking: Enter inventory data into our Warehouse Management System (WMS) accurately and promptly.
• Quality & Expiration Monitoring: Monitor First-In, First-Out (FIFO) rotation strictly to ensure freshness. Identify and report any product approaching its expiration date or showing signs of quality degradation.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, or overages, reporting significant issues to the Warehouse Supervisor.
• Receiving Support: Verify the accuracy of incoming deliveries against purchase orders, ensuring the correct quantities and items are received.
• Safety & Compliance: Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all strict food safety guidelines (FDA, SQF) and general workplace safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: Previous experience in inventory control, warehousing, or data entry is preferred. Experience in the food or fresh produce industry is a major plus.
• Skills: * Strong basic math skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with basic computer programs (Microsoft Excel, Word) and ability to learn Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Cold Environment: Must be able to work comfortably in a refrigerated warehouse environment (typically between 34&degree;F and 38&degree;F) for the duration of the shift.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
• Lifting: Must be able to safely lift and move up to 40 lbs consistently.
