Customer Training Manager

Position Purpose The Customer Training Manager is responsible for developing and delivering engaging, high-quality instructional content for The Home Depot’s How-To Workshops program. This customer-facing role requires a dynamic on-camera presence, DIY skills, and the ability to translate technical concepts into easy-to-understand, hands‑on learning experiences for a wide range of customers. The Customer Training Manager educates customers through pre-recorded videos that are distributed across various digital platforms and social channels, while also answering customers’ DIY questions via live chat and email. Some evening and weekend work is required to support the live workshop schedule. This end‑to‑end position includes scripting, set building, prop procurement, on‑camera delivery, and close collaboration with production to ensure content is accurate, polished, and aligned with business goals. Success in this role requires adaptability, as priorities and formats often shift to meet evolving customer and business needs. By empowering customers through education, this role brings The Home Depot’s DIY spirit to life—one project at a time. Key Responsibilities 20% Administrative Support – Administrative (calendar planning, attendance/roster management, communication with customers) 20% Collaboration/Partnership – Partnering with cross‑functional teams to serve as a subject matter expert in the creation of training materials and/or serving as project lead; partnering with cross‑functional teams to create and prepare sets for workshop delivery 60% Training and Development – Delivery and recording of training and development programs Direct Manager/Direct Reports This Position typically reports to Sr. manager External Delivery This Position has 0 Direct Reports Travel Requirements Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time. Physical Requirements Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles. Working Conditions Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. Minimum Qualifications Must be eighteen years of age or older. Must be legally permitted to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications Strong on-camera presence, especially in customer‑facing, educational contexts. Comfortable serving as a public‑facing presence on social media, including appearing in videos and other digital content that represents the brand. Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, engaging learning experiences for diverse audiences. 5+ years of experience in adult learning, training, The Home Depot, corporate education, or a related field. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with team members and cross‑functional partners. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly with customers. Strong research skills to stay current on products, techniques, and to develop accurate training content. Demonstrated DIY skills and hands‑on experience with home improvement projects and/or set building. Adaptability to shifting project priorities, formats, and deadlines, with the ability to problem‑solve and ensure deliverables are met. Demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects, manage time effectively, and deliver high‑quality work in a fast‑paced environment. Proficiency with delivery platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and other administrative tools. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends. Willingness to learn and grow within the role. Bilingual (Spanish‑speaking) is a plus. Minimum Education The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
