Assurance and action management. Lead field assurance activities, including audits, inspections, and critical-control verification. Ensure findings are risk-ranked, corrective actions are completed on time, and effectiveness is verified. Incident and learning leadership. Oversee HSE incident notification, response, investigation, and learning reviews. Ensure high-quality causal analysis, appropriate escalation, durable corrective actions, and timely sharing of lessons across operations. Emergency preparedness. Maintain effective emergency response and crisis-management readiness for U.S. operations, support drills and exercises, and provide leadership during significant events. Regulatory and environmental compliance. Maintain compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, DOT, state, and local requirements, as well as relevant industry and customer standards. Continuous improvement. Monitor regulatory developments, industry practices, and new technologies, and recommend practical improvements to reduce risk and strengthen operational performance. Qualifications And Leadership Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience. Typically, 10 or more years of progressively responsible HSE experience in land drilling, oilfield services, upstream oil and gas, or another high-hazard industrial environment, including at least five years of leading teams across multiple locations. Strong working knowledge of land drilling operations, field equipment, operational practices, and the risks associated with mobile, high-energy work. Demonstrated experience in HOP, SIF prevention, critical-risk management, learning teams, incident investigation, assurance programs, and emergency response. Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and relevant EPA, DOT, and state regulations; familiarity with applicable IADC, API, and customer standards. A Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or comparable professional designation is strongly preferred. CHMM, CIH, or other relevant credentials are considered an asset. Skills And Competencies Visible, field-oriented leader who builds trust among frontline employees and operational leaders. Strong judgment and business acumen, with the ability to balance strategic priorities and hands-on execution. Proven ability to coach, influence, and challenge leaders constructively without relying solely on positional authority. Clear and concise communicator, both verbally and in writing, with confidence presenting to executives, customers, and regulators. Strong facilitation, investigation, problem-solving, and change-leadership skills. Ability to interpret complex HSE data, identify meaningful trends, and translate insights into practical action. Calm and decisive during serious incidents, emergencies, and other high-pressure situations. Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities across a geographically dispersed operation. TRAVEL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Houston-based role with frequent travel to U.S. offices, yards, and active drilling locations, typically 25% to 30%, with periods of higher travel based on operational needs. Travel may include overnight stays, remote field locations, and occasional short-notice evening or weekend responses to significant events. Must be able to safely access active drilling and yard environments, wear required personal protective equipment, and work outdoors in variable weather conditions, with or without reasonable accommodation. A valid driver's license and the ability to meet applicable company and customer site-access requirements are required. #J-18808-Ljbffr Precision Drilling
