Required Related Experience - 2 yrs

Required License/Registration/Certification - Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.

Physical Requirements - May include standing for greater than 5 hours at a time and possibly walking several miles per day. May require the ability to reach items above shoulder level and be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Shift - The shift is day shift, mainly Monday-Friday with some weekend and holiday requirements.

Job Summary - The major job responsibilities of this position are 1) ordering and maintaining investigational drugs; 2) maintain accurate record keeping system for monitors; 3) prepare and distribute investigational drug orders, remake kits for individual studies; 4) IDS is authorized to charge for costs associated with Pharmacy participation in research which is processed by this position. Also performs drug distribution activities, compounds non-sterile preparations and prepares intravenous and or chemotherapy products in accordance with established procedures; maintains the clinical investigational work areas in a clean and orderly manner; performs workload measurement support functions; performs training/educational functions; performs cross-functional and other duties and responsibilities consistent with the job classification.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities - This position requires dependability and the ability to prioritize. The successful candidate must be reliable and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? - No

Preferred Education/Experience - Associate or bachelor's degree and hospital and/or retail pharmacy technician experience preferred.
