Job Summary
Ultrasonographer General This position performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations and produces high-quality images for radiologist interpretation. Responsibilities include preparing patients, operating ultrasound equipment, providing procedural guidance, maintaining accurate records, and supporting compassionate patient care.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shift, 10-hour shifts, 40 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Responsibilities include preparing patients for ultrasound examinations and special procedures, verifying orders and patient identification, reviewing examinations with radiologists before patient discharge, providing ultrasound guidance during procedures, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, assessing clinical histories, obtaining and labeling diagnostic images, transmitting images when required, using the Picture Archive Communication System (PACS), maintaining accurate patient records, protecting patient confidentiality, and following Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards. The role also requires competency in electronic health record documentation and high-level disinfection of endocavity probes according to policy.
