Job Title: ER Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Evenings Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years of emergency room experience, with an emphasis on trauma level 1 experience. License: Must possess a valid nursing license. Certifications: Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Must-Have: Must have at least 6 months of trauma level 1 experience. Description: The position requires the ability to float between multiple facilities. Candidates are expected to pass a DYS exam prior to acceptance. Travel teams must have their own vehicles. Candidates must have natural hair color and no facial piercings. Men are required to be clean-shaven for fit testing. A pass/fail exam will be administered on the first day. All RNs will be required to complete a skills lab focusing on Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes. Maintaining a sterile field is crucial, as those who do not may not be a good fit for the role. Shift requirements include working four weekends per month. The ER handles a high volume of patients with common diagnoses including trauma, burns, and pediatric cases. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4. Pharmacy and respiratory therapy services are available 24/7. Additional duties include managing patient lifts, restraints, and wound care. Candidates should be familiar with monitoring systems and possess the ability to read strips. Nurses are expected to work cohesively with charge nurses and nurse aides. This position is ideal for motivated individuals with a strong foundation in emergency care settings.
