Locums - Merced, California Interventional Cardiology Opportunity

Clinical Role

Seeking an Interventional Cardiologist for an ongoing locums opportunity in Merced, California. This is a 100% inpatient position providing interventional and general cardiac care, including cath lab coverage, consults, and rounding.

Schedule & Coverage

Start Date: ASAP, pending credentialing
Duration: Ongoing
Schedule: Monday-Friday plus call
Standard inpatient hours with after-hours call
Call Rotation: Approximately 10-22 days per month; varies based on coverage needs
Coverage Need: 1.0 FTE
Reason for Coverage: Program growth and vacancy coverage

Practice Setting & Patient Population

100% inpatient
Cath lab and hospital consult coverage
No clinic or office responsibilities
Adult and geriatric patient population

Clinical Responsibilities & Procedures

Diagnostic cardiac catheterizations
Percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI)
Inpatient cardiac consults and rounding
Inpatient cardiac management
Interpret unassigned EKGs and echocardiograms
Provide interventional cardiac care to help reduce transfers to outside facilities

Support & Systems

Dedicated Cath Lab team, including RNs and technicians
EMR: Cerner

Requirements & Credentialing

Board Certified or Board Eligible required
Interventional Cardiology fellowship required
Active California license required
Clean malpractice and background required
Must be available to start as soon as credentialing is completed
