Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical; have the ability to work full-time, 40+ hours per week. The hours for this position are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 7am-7:30pm. Due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market, Bodycote deems this position to be safety-sensitive. Position Summary: Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): Based in Berlin, CT the Heat Treater A-C will perform essential job functions associate with heat treatment under the direction of the Operations Manager to meet customer specifications including assisting other employees as needed. We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a Heat Treating Technician. Depending on your skills and experience, this role may be filled at one of the following levels: Level C: Entry Level: 0 to 24 months of heat treating experience. You will be expected to learn and grow in your role, with guidance from senior team members. Assists with operations; control and monitor heat treating and related equipment, follow written procedures stated on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork. Level B: Mid-Level: 2 to 3 years of experience in heat treating. You should have a proven track record in heat treating, along with the ability to work independently and collaborate across teams. Operates, controls, and monitors heat treating equipment as required and written in procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork. Level A: Senior-Level: 3 to 5 years of experience and a deep understanding of heat treating. You will lead initiatives, mentor junior team members, and make strategic contributions to the department. Independently operates, controls, and monitors heat treating equipment as required and written in procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork. Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to, the following: Prepares work for processing; loads and unloads furnaces, bins, fixtures, baskets, etc. Operate, monitor, and ensure furnaces are operating per written procedures and customer requirements. Brings any unusual problems or irregularities to the attention of the supervisor. Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping. Performs other tasks, as required, in support of production. This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and, as such, will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage. Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism. Pay & Benefits Information The hourly pay range for this position is $22 – $27 per hour. Starting pay is determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with state and federal law. This role is eligible for additional compensation, including shift differential.
