Cook - Patient Dining Services – $19/hour (Temp-to-Hire)
On-site | Saturday-Wednesday 10am-6:30pm | Philadelphia, PA 19128

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals for adult and adolescent patients in a rehabilitation/behavioral health setting
• Prepare patient meal trays according to established menus, dietary guidelines, and portion requirements
• Follow recipes and food preparation procedures to ensure meals are prepared safely, accurately, and on schedule
• Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety standards throughout meal preparation and service
• Assist with serving meals and ensuring patients receive their meals in a timely and professional manner
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, including washing dishes, cleaning equipment, and sanitizing food preparation areas
• Manage inventory by receiving and putting away deliveries, rotating stock, and monitoring food supplies
• Follow all facility policies and procedures related to patient safety, confidentiality, and kitchen operations

Requirements

• Previous experience as a cook, prep cook, or in a food service environment preferred
• Ability to work comfortably in a rehabilitation/behavioral health setting serving both adult and adolescent patients
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift at least 50–75 lbs; must be physically able to carry supplies up/down stairs as needed
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices; willingness to complete any required training
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, recipes, menus, and dietary guidelines
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment
• Sanitary Training certification or hospitality/culinary training preferred
• Successful completion of required clearances, including Child Abuse Clearance, Physical, Background Check, and Drug Test
