Purchasing Specialist

The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring goods and services to meet the organization’s operational needs. This role ensures timely delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance with company policies and industry standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "may." Procurement Management Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and competitive pricing. Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal teams to maintain optimal stock. Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements. Resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or invoicing. Compliance & Reporting Ensure adherence to company purchasing policies and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other data. Generate reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and supplier performance. Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization. Stay updated on market trends and new product offerings. Perform other related duties as assigned to assist with successful platform operation, development, and business continuity. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Successfully pass background check. Possess a valid U.S. Driver's License. Consistent and reliable in person attendance. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (preferred). 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles. Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software. Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) or similar credentials preferred QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND ABILITIES Strong negotiation and communication skills. Analytical mindset with attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Purchasing Specialist works indoors in an office setting, primarily sitting for extended periods of time at a desk station, keyboarding and using repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and or fingers. They will also need to speak clearly and audibly, as well as have the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and /or other sounds (e.g., building alarms) deriving from in person speech, telephone, or other remote speech. No adverse environmental conditions are expected. While in the office Purchasing Specialist may be called upon to stand, kneel, push, pull, reach overhead, stoop, crouch, climb, and lift; therefore, the Purchasing Specialist should be able to lift 25 lbs. independently Work hours may include early morning, late evenings, and weekends, depending on business necessity.
