Respiratory Care Practitioner II The Respiratory Care Practitioner II delivers cardiopulmonary care as directed by the physician to outpatients in an effective and efficient manner. Transports and sets up equipment and administers therapies as ordered by the physician, within 10 minuteson all STAT orders, and performs scheduled treatments for routine orders in a timely manner. Provides therapy per department standards. Responds to all codes appropriately. Responsible for setup, operation, and maintenance of mechanical ventilation for adults, pediatrics, and neonates. Assists with diagnostic studies per department standards. Documents and records specific information on the patient's medical record. Reviews the patient's record to ensure against contraindication and treatment prescribed and makes recommendations to the physician as necessary. Reports any complications encountered when treating patients to the supervisor in charge. Restocks supplies on units and/or diagnostic rooms daily. Cleans and prepares equipment for sterilization and reports damaged or broken equipment. Checks supply rooms daily. Completes continuing education and in-service programs to meet regulatory and job requirements. Actively participates in staff meetings and committees as requested. Participates in performance improvement activities. Presents and promotes a professional demeanor at all times, establishing high standards of customer service. Supports responsibility, pride, and teamwork while remaining calm under pressure and offering reasonable solutions for problems. Demonstrates appropriate interaction with and provides recommended care and services to all patients. Exhibits knowledge and basic understanding regarding the needs of neonatal, adolescent, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, including their cultural needs. Applies knowledge of principles of standard precautions. Routinely uses personal protective equipment to avoid risk of exposure to self and others. Experience: One to two (1-2) years experience in Respiratory Therapy preferred License: Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner Certifications: RCP registered, BLS certification
