Surgical Technologist, Operating Room

ARMStaffing is looking for a Surgical Technologist, Operating Room in Zanesville, Ohio.

Location: Zanesville, OH

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift: The Surgical Technologist will work 36-40 hours per week, with options for three 12-hour shifts, four 10-hour shifts, or five 8-hour shifts. Start and end times are negotiable, and the position includes approximately every fifth weekend as a call weekend, with 1-2 calls per week. All call requires a 30-minute response time.

Job Description

The Surgical Technologist will provide support in the operating room for various specialties including orthopedic, neuro, and vascular surgeries. Candidates should possess excellent critical thinking skills and have a strong understanding of central processing and instrumentation. Flexibility to handle potential increases in call volume based on department needs is crucial.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures by providing instrumentation and support to the surgical team.
• Prepare and maintain the sterile field and instruments during surgery.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Respond to emergency situations effectively and efficiently.
• Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions as required.

Required Experience

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited surgical technology program and possess current experience in a variety of surgical specialties including orthopedic, neuro, and vascular. BLS certification is required.

Certifications/Licensure

CST certification is preferred but not required.
