Tech - First Assist

$2325.60/week –

Job Summary:
Provide specialized surgical assistance as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) in the First Assist role within a hospital setting. Support surgical teams during complex procedures with expertise in orthopedic, neuro, and trauma surgeries to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assist surgeons during procedures such as craniotomies, spine fusions, liver resections, Whipple surgeries, and total joint replacements.

• Prepare and maintain sterile field and surgical equipment according to unit standards.

• Collaborate with surgical team members to ensure all procedural supplies and instruments are available and functioning properly.

• Document intraoperative activities accurately in the Meditech system.

• Adhere to hospital policies, safety protocols, and dress code requirements.

• Provide patient-centered care with a focus on safety and efficiency during each surgical case.

Qualifications:

• Current license as a First Assist Surgical Technologist in Virginia.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in surgical settings, specifically in orthopedic, neuro, and trauma surgeries.

• Proficient in the use of OR equipment, DaVinci robotic systems, and neuro surgical tools.

• Skilled in performing procedures such as craniotomies, spine fusions, and joint replacements.

• Strong understanding of sterile techniques and surgical protocols.

• Ability to work 10-hour shifts with weekend and weeknight call rotation, avoiding floating requirements.
