Security Guard Field Supervisor

Department: Operations
Reports To: Operations Manager / Director of Operations
Employment Type: Part-Time

Position Summary

The Security Guard Field Supervisor is responsible for overseeing, supporting, and developing security personnel assigned to multiple client locations while ensuring compliance with Veteran Security HD policies, client expectations, contractual obligations, and industry standards.

This position serves as a key representative of Veteran Security HD by conducting field inspections, monitoring officer performance, responding to operational concerns, assisting with staffing needs, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring the highest level of security service is consistently provided.

The Field Supervisor must demonstrate strong leadership, professionalism, accountability, communication skills, and sound judgment while maintaining operational readiness and supporting a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, and the public.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Security Guard Field Supervisor is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Field Operations

· Conduct scheduled, routine, and unannounced inspections of assigned client locations.

· Ensure security officers are performing duties according to company policies, post orders, and client requirements.

· Verify officers arrive on time, remain properly staffed, and maintain professional conduct while on duty.

· Inspect officer uniforms, equipment, appearance, and overall job performance.

· Ensure officers maintain required licenses, certifications, and assigned equipment.

· Conduct quality assurance inspections and document findings.

· Identify operational concerns and recommend corrective actions.

· Complete and submit field inspection reports accurately and within required deadlines.

Personnel Supervision

· Supervise, coach, mentor, and support assigned security officers.

· Provide guidance regarding company policies, procedures, and client expectations.

· Assist with onboarding, orientation, and field training of newly assigned personnel.

· Monitor employee performance, attendance, and professionalism.

· Provide feedback and recommendations for employee improvement.

· Address policy violations, performance concerns, and operational issues.

· Assist management with employee counseling and documentation when necessary.

· Promote accountability, teamwork, and professional development.

Client Relations

· Serve as a professional representative of Veteran Security HD while interacting with clients.

· Maintain positive working relationships with client representatives.

· Conduct site visits and client check-ins as assigned.

· Respond professionally to client concerns and requests.

· Communicate operational updates and client feedback to management.

· Ensure client expectations and contractual obligations are consistently met.

Emergency Response

· Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, staffing issues, and operational needs.

· Provide leadership and support during emergency situations.

· Assist with investigations involving incidents, accidents, property damage, theft, or security concerns.

· Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports.

· Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency responders, clients, and management when required.

Scheduling and Staffing Support

· Assist Operations and Dispatch with staffing needs and coverage concerns.

· Support scheduling efforts related to call-offs, vacancies, and last-minute staffing requirements.

· Verify officer attendance and post coverage.

· Conduct welfare checks and provide field support to assigned personnel.

· Assist with operational adjustments based on client and company needs.

Vehicle and Equipment Responsibilities

· Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly.

· Conduct routine inspections of assigned vehicles.

· Maintain company vehicles in a clean and professional condition.

· Ensure officers have required equipment necessary to perform assigned duties.

· Report damaged, missing, or malfunctioning equipment promptly.

Administrative Responsibilities

· Complete all required reports, documentation, and inspection records accurately.

· Maintain confidentiality of employee, client, and company information.

· Submit mileage, fuel receipts, and expense documentation according to company procedures.

· Utilize company software, reporting systems, and mobile technology effectively.

· Maintain accurate records related to field operations.

Work Schedule and Availability

This position requires  open availability . The Security Guard Field Supervisor must be available to work a flexible schedule, which may include daytime shifts, evening shifts, overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.

Due to the nature of security operations,  this position does not have a permanent or fixed schedule . The assigned schedule is subject to change based on client needs, staffing requirements, emergencies, special events, contract obligations, and other operational priorities.

The Field Supervisor must be willing and able to:

· Work varying shifts as assigned.

· Respond to after-hours operational needs when required.

· Provide coverage support for staffing shortages.

· Travel between multiple client locations.

· Maintain reliable transportation.

· Report promptly to assigned locations.

· Adapt to schedule changes with limited notice.

Required Qualifications

Education

· High school diploma or GED required.

· Associate degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Homeland Security, or a related field  preferred.

· Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field  preferred.

Licensing and Certifications

· Valid California BSIS Guard Card in good standing.

· Valid California Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.

· Current CPR and First Aid Certification preferred.

· Ability to successfully complete required background investigations and pre-employment screening.

· Ability to maintain all required licenses and certifications.

Experience Requirements

· Minimum of two (2) years of experience in private security, military service, law enforcement, or a closely related field.

· Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or leadership experience in private security, military service, law enforcement, or a related industry.

· Experience conducting security inspections, investigations, and report writing preferred.

· Experience supervising personnel across multiple locations preferred.

· Experience handling emergency situations and operational challenges preferred.

· Experience using scheduling, reporting, workforce management, or security management systems preferred.

Physical Requirements

The employee must be able to:

· Stand and walk for extended periods.

· Climb stairs and navigate various environments.

· Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.

· Bend, kneel, crouch, and reach as needed.

· Drive between multiple client locations.

· Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

· Maintain sufficient vision and hearing to perform essential job functions.

Work Environment

Field Supervisors work in a variety of environments, including commercial properties, industrial facilities, residential communities, construction sites, special events, and other client locations.

The position requires frequent travel, interaction with security personnel and clients, and the ability to respond to changing operational conditions. Work may include nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency assignments.
