Cyber Security Engineer

To support a major modernization initiative within the Department of Veterans Affairs, a skilled Cyber Security Engineer will work remotely on a full-time basis, focusing on cybersecurity engineering, risk management, and security modernization efforts for healthcare systems and infrastructure. Key responsibilities: Support cybersecurity engineering for cloud security, compliance documentation, and continuous monitoring Secure AWS environments through identity management, encryption, vulnerability management, and configuration hardening Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate security requirements into architecture, sprint planning, and deployment readiness Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field 5+ years of cybersecurity engineering experience in federal, cloud, healthcare, or regulated environments Experience securing AWS cloud environments and familiarity with AWS security services Hands-on experience with RMF, ATO, and federal compliance activities Knowledge of NIST RMF, NIST SP 800-53 controls, and federal cybersecurity requirements #J-18808-Ljbffr
