Pharmacist - Burnsville, MN

A community-focused pharmacy is seeking a dedicated pharmacist for a 13-week contract opportunity in the Burnsville, MN area. This role is a high-priority backfill assignment to support pharmacy operations following recent staffing changes. Location: Burnsville, MN

Job Type: Contract, 13 weeks

Schedule:

• Flexible shifts: 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM, 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM, or 11:00 AM - 8:30 PM
• Rotating weekends: Saturday and Sunday

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications to patients
• Monitor patient medication compliance and address over-usage concerns
• Ensure all medication supply complies with legal regulations
• Maintain confidential and detailed patient records and pharmacy files
• Counsel patients on proper medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions
• Provide additional patient services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management
• Educate patients on handling medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors
• Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions according to protocols
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks
• Manage pharmaceutical inventory and medical supplies efficiently
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to resolve drug-related issues

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• MN Pharmacist license in-hand
• Retail pharmacist experience preferred, though training will be provided for those new to retail practice
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Flexibility to cover rotating weekend shifts
