Data Center Engineer

Location: Chicago, IL I'm representing a technology-driven trading firm that operates some of the most sophisticated low-latency and high-performance computing infrastructure in the industry. They are looking for a Data Center Engineer to join a global infrastructure team responsible for the physical data center environments that power their trading operations, including liquid cooling systems and GPU-dense compute. This is a hands-on, project-oriented role with real ownership from start to finish. You'll work with cutting-edge server, network, and storage technology, and play a central part in keeping mission-critical infrastructure running at its best. What you'll do Maintain data center infrastructure including power, cooling (including direct liquid cooling), hardware, and cabling to ensure maximum availability Plan and execute new hardware installations, covering physical placement, power and cooling requirements, and structured cabling Rack, cable, and configure data center hardware including servers, GPU-dense compute, network equipment, and storage devices Perform hardware troubleshooting and break-fix across data center infrastructure Handle initial configuration of network devices and Linux servers via CLI and zero-touch provisioning Manage colocation provider and vendor relationships, and oversee onsite contractors Maintain accurate inventory, documentation, and capacity planning across space, power, cooling, and cabling Occasional travel to other data center sites may be required What you'll bring 3+ years of data center experience GPU hardware exposure Strong understanding of data center infrastructure including electrical, power, cooling, and safety Knowledge of cabling standards and media types, with an exceptionally high standard for cable management Experience with hardware repair across servers, network devices, and storage Hands-on experience configuring Cisco and Arista devices via CLI Comfort working at the Linux command line for basic troubleshooting and script execution Ability to understand basic network designs and topologies Failure analysis experience is a plus Programming experience such as Python is a plus Must be able to meet physical requirements including working at height and lifting up to 50 lbs Please note this role is open to US citizens or Green Card Holders #J-18808-Ljbffr Autonomai Recruitment
