Facilities Maintenance Manager, Licensed Mechanical Contractor

Position Summary This position is for a Licensed Manager of Facilities Maintenance Operations at Walmart, overseeing predictive and preventative maintenance across a regional area. The role involves leading a team of technicians, ensuring efficient and sustainable building operations, and maintaining a safe environment for associates and customers. What you'll do Role Detail: Requires approximately 50% or more travel within the region. Works directly with Store Managers and Facility Services Leadership on facility services needs. Engages with vendors and contractors as needed. Handles reporting and analytics. Maintains up-to-date contractor licenses. Participates in training programs and conduct site inspections to monitor compliance and quality. Obtains necessary permits and schedules inspections as required by mechanical or building codes. Hard Skill Sets Needed General Facilities Services / Overall Building Maintenance Experience – 3 to 5 years preferred. Electrical, plumbing, or mechanical experience. Leadership skills – able to lead, motivate, and develop others. Communication and interpersonal skills. Problem‑solving skills – root cause and breakdown analysis experience. Customer service orientation. Soft Skill Sets Needed EPA Universal Certification. PMP Certification. Lean Six Sigma. Current AZ HVAC/R Contractor license, in good standing. Maintain Mechanical Contractor Licenses in the state of employment. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and may include stock. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field. 3 years’ experience in facilities management, construction management, mechanical maintenance, engineering, or related area, or 5 years’ experience in the same fields. EPA 608 Certification within 90 days of hire. Mechanical Contractor License or equivalent in the state of employment. Preferred Qualifications Experience in building controls or related area. Prior role as a Maintenance Supervisor in optical, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing environment. State‑ and jurisdiction‑required certification and license for the work area. Supervisory experience and Type I and Type II EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
