About the Position

Job Title: MRI Tech Profession: MRI Tech Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00-20:30 Hours per Shift: 13 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Not specified Certifications: Not specified Must-Have: Ability to work independently in the department with Radiologist availability for questions. Ability to provide excellent patient care while keeping the MRI environment safe for everyone. Description: 1-2 days on call per month. The facility is a Level II Trauma Center. Parking is not allowed in designated areas. Scrub colors required: Navy Blue for RN, Caribbean Blue for Clinical Support, Black for Radiology, Khaki for Lab, Ciel Blue for Surgical Staff. Bed capacity is 309. The unit consists of 1 MRI machine and 3 staff members. Day shift is Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 15:30. Night shift is from 15:00 to 01:30. Weekend shifts are Saturday and Sunday from 08:00 to 20:30. Patient ratio is 1:1. Typical equipment includes GE Explorer Lift and Signa 1.5T. EMR system is Meditech. Most commonly recruited for positions are travel RNs, local CNAs, and sitters. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to adapt protocols for patients or physician needs. Willingness to learn from onsite and virtual applications for new procedures is preferred. Typical procedures performed include neuro exams including MRAs, MRIs of the head, neck, and spine, abdominal exams including MRCPs, MRIs of the aorta, liver, and kidneys, and MSK exams including extremities and arthrograms. A friendly personality with excellent communication skills is ideal. Candidates should be team players who strive to maintain a relaxed and enjoyable work environment. There are many department protocols for safety and exams built into the scanner for easy access and guidance. The facility is planning a software upgrade that will enhance scanning capabilities and increase efficiency. Future growth may involve acquiring a second scanner and expanding the department. Travelers are expected to work every other weekend and on holidays in rotation with facility employees.
