Veteran Volunteers Needed: Honor Those Who Served
The bond between veterans is unlike any other. As a Level 4 We Honor Veterans hospice program, we're seeking veteran volunteers to support fellow veterans receiving end-of-life care.
Whether through conversation, shared memories, or simply being present, your service can bring comfort, dignity, and connection when it matters most.
As a Veteran Volunteer, You May:
- Visit veteran hospice patients for companionship and support
- Participate in veteran recognition and pinning ceremonies
- Support special veteran-focused events and initiatives
- Offer understanding rooted in shared military experience
What We Ask:
- Flexible commitment—typically 1–2 visits per month
- Service opportunities throughout the Kansas City metro and at John Knox Village
- Compassion, reliability, and respect for confidentiality
No hospice experience is required. We provide comprehensive training, ongoing support, and We Honor Veterans education.
This is an opportunity to continue serving in a meaningful way—ensuring that no veteran faces the end of life alone and that every veteran is honored for their service.
