Maintenance Mechanic

Pay Range: $25 - $32 per hour, based on experience

Shift/Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 6 days per week during the production season ("pack") from mid/late June to mid/late November. Shifts alternate halfway through the season to balance day and night hours for all mechanics. During the off-season, shifts transition to either 5 days at 8 hours per day or 4 days at 10 hours per day.

Position Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing food processing equipment to ensure optimal performance during production. This role includes conducting equipment inspections, troubleshooting, and performing essential repairs to meet production goals. During non-production periods, the mechanic assists with equipment overhaul and installation in preparation for the next production cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance on facility machinery and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair machinery to maintain production flow, completing replacements as needed.
• Interpret blueprints and sketches to accurately execute assigned tasks.
• Design, fabricate, weld, and install equipment as required.
• Document maintenance work and track completed preventive maintenance tasks.
• Monitor equipment performance and adjust to ensure smooth operation.
• Enforce GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and follow all safety regulations and procedures.

Plant Information:

Located in Ripon, WI our facility includes four large warehouses, extensive labeling, shipping, and receiving operations, and an active production area where we process canned green beans (initial season) and carrots (beginning around October). Some outdoor production areas exist, though the primary production floor includes stations for snipping, cutting, blanching, and cooking.

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of mechanical experience in manufacturing or food processing.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
• Capable of working extended hours during the peak production season.
