MECA Therapies is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our pediatric Early Intervention team serving the Hobbs region.
As the largest pediatric rehabilitation provider in New Mexico, MECA is committed to helping children and families reach their highest level of independence through exceptional, family-centered care. Our Speech-Language Pathologists work collaboratively with families and interdisciplinary teams to provide evidence-based speech and language services in home and community settings for infants and toddlers from birth to age three.

Position Summary
The Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates and treats infants and toddlers with speech, language, feeding, communication, and developmental disorders. This position provides family-centered services in natural environments, including homes and community settings, while collaborating with caregivers and interdisciplinary team members to promote communication, developmental progress, and successful participation in everyday routines.
Qualifications
Required
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
- Current or eligible licensure through the New Mexico Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology, and Hearing Aid Dispensing Practices Board.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or Clinical Fellowship eligibility.
- Current driver's license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance.
- Ability to travel throughout the assigned service area.
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
Preferred
- Experience in pediatric speech-language pathology.
- Early Intervention experience.
- Experience with feeding and swallowing disorders.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive speech-language evaluations using standardized assessment tools.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings, developmental needs, and family priorities.
- Provide evidence-based speech-language therapy in home and community settings.
- Evaluate and treat communication, language, articulation, feeding, oral-motor, and developmental disorders within scope of practice.
- Educate and coach families to support communication development and carryover of therapeutic strategies during daily routines.
- Monitor progress toward treatment goals and modify intervention plans as appropriate.
- Complete evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, discharge summaries, and required documentation within established timelines.
- Participate in IFSP meetings, Transdisciplinary Team Approach (TTA) meetings, annual reviews, periodic reviews, and transition planning.
- Serve as Team Lead for assigned children when applicable.
- Collaborate with physicians, Family Service Coordinators, educators, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, licensing, HIPAA, and MECA policies and procedures.
Caseload & Productivity Expectations
- Maintain an assigned caseload averaging approximately 30 direct therapy visits per week (or part-time equivalent).
- Provide services in accordance with each child's Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
- Meet established productivity expectations while delivering high-quality, family-centered services.
- Caseloads may be adjusted based on evaluations, supervision responsibilities, program needs, and other assigned duties.
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete documentation accurately and at the time of service whenever possible.
- Submit treatment notes and required documentation according to established program timelines.
- Complete FIT evaluations within three (3) business days, unless prior approval has been obtained.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and compliant medical records in accordance with HIPAA, payer, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and maintain documentation standards.
- Professional Development
- Maintain an active New Mexico Speech-Language Pathology license and ASHA certification (if applicable).
- Complete all required continuing education and mandatory training.
- Participate in staff meetings, clinical education, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Provide education and consultation to families, caregivers, and team members to support treatment outcomes.
Clinical Supervision Opportunities
Qualified Speech-Language Pathologists may have opportunities to supervise:
- Clinical Fellows (CF-SLP)
- Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs), where permitted
- Graduate student clinicians and interns
Supervision responsibilities will be performed in accordance with ASHA standards, New Mexico licensing regulations, and MECA supervision policies.
