Senior Associate Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to join its McAllen, Texas office. The candidate must have a minimum of five years of civil litigation defense experience and be licensed in Texas. This on-site role requires attendance at the office five days a week. The attorney will handle a variety of civil litigation matters, including personal injury, premises liability, construction, transportation, business litigation, and insurance defense. Duties Manage civil litigation defense matters from inception through resolution. Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and discovery responses. Take and defend depositions. Attend hearings, mediations, and court appearances. Prepare case analyses, litigation plans, and status reports for clients and insurance carriers. Develop and implement case strategy. Prepare cases for trial and participate in trial proceedings as needed. Requirements Minimum of 5 years of civil litigation defense experience. Active Texas Bar license. Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills. Experience handling depositions, mediations, and motion practice. Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload. Insurance defense experience preferred. Trial experience is a plus. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications Licensed to practice law in Texas. Skills Strong litigation skills.
