Quality Manager

We supply casting, machining, assembly, and finishing to customers seeking aluminum & zinc components. We are looking for a Quality Manager who will be a critical part of our management team and have a tangible effect on the success of the business. The Quality Manager is responsible for all quality assurance functions throughout the manufacturing process and post-manufacturing support. The Quality Manager serves as a leader in the business, working closely with all internal departments and external customers. Key responsibilities Manage, improve, and maintain the Quality Management System for continued effectiveness. Manage a team of quality engineers and inspectors. Manage the flow of work through the QC department, including inspection. Organize, promote, and manage companywide quality improvement efforts. Work directly with customers, vendors, certification bodies, etc. on issues related to the QMS. Within manufacturing facility, oversee APQP activity. Prepare and submit PPAPs/FAIs. Manage the preparation, implementation, and maintenance of Quality Control work instructions. Manage RMA and internal MRB processes. Lead investigations and corrective actions related to quality issues/concerns. Please note that the duties and requirements described herein are intended to represent general contents of this job. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field, plus 5 years related experience -or- 10 years industry specific experience including supervisory/management responsibilities. Ability to analyze and interpret drawings, specifications, and SPC/Cpk data. Ability to distill requirements and their practical applications – form, fit, function. Ability to analyze manufacturing processes to establish root cause and corrective action. Skills: GD&T Mechanical inspection CMM fixturing and output analysis. Understanding of/experience with relevant certifications – ISO, AS9100, Nadcap, etc. This is a demanding position that requires an individual who strives for personal excellence.
