Fleet Maintenance Supervisor

Overview As a Penske Maintenance Supervisor you will use your communication, organization and multitasking skills to engage diesel technicians, maintain team morale and keep customers satisfied. Your main duties include coordinating, scheduling and auditing vehicle maintenance repairs, including preventive, mechanical and electrical work on tractors, trucks and trailers. You will be involved in hiring, training and ongoing development of maintenance technicians to ensure a highly skilled workforce that meets customer expectations. Training All new supervisors enroll in a training program that covers vehicle componentry, maintenance technology, service department management, leading associates and customer engagement. Responsibilities Prioritize and assign work to meet customers’ needs Ensure quality, compliance and safety of Penske assets Control repair, inventory and labor costs Meet and exceed customer satisfaction Coach and mentor technicians and CSRs Monitor associate work levels Manage facility, ensuring a clean and safe environment Other duties and tasks as required by supervisor Qualifications Ability and desire to work in a positive, fast‑paced, high‑energy environment 3–5 years of fleet maintenance management experience preferred, or at least 3 years of team management in an environment with strong operational metrics High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or technical school degree preferred Strong customer service and organizational skills required Valid driver’s license required Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office and web‑based applications preferred Ability to understand and comply with instructions, guidelines and regulations established by Penske management Adherence to DOT, OSHA and Penske safety and maintenance policies (including correct use of tools, PPE, machine guarding and best safety practices) Regular, predictable full attendance is essential Willingness to travel within the district and as necessary for job duties Physical Requirements Move frequently; stand, walk, climb, bend and sit for extended periods Use hands routinely to grasp, reach and operate tools or controls Work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms Work safely in all weather conditions Ability to see and hear for safe navigation of workplace with large trucks Lift and move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly and up to 100 lbs (45 kg) occasionally EEO Statement Penske is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
