Job Summary: Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse (MS RN) Newburgh, Indiana
Medical Ortho (Medical Surgical) Registered Nurse (MS RN) opportunity is available with the organization for 12-hour day shifts. This role supports medical and surgical patient care, including post-surgical assessment and medication therapies. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days (12 hours), 6:307; minimum 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Active compact RN license; Basic Life Support (AHA BLS); National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); Associate Degree or Certificate; recent Electronic Patient Record (EPIC) experience (checkoff class required); skillset including IV fluid/antibiotic therapies, strong medical/post-surgical assessment, heparin gtts., wounds/wound vacs, and basic tele; two years of strong Med/Surg experience; one travel assignment; trauma level II experience
• Preferred Qualifications: Recent experience caring for a combination of medical and surgical patients, including managing confusion and behavioral health needs (as applicable), plus conditions such as CHF, COPD, UTI, cellulitis, sepsis, amputations, decubitus ulcers, and general surgeries
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information:
  • Weekend/holiday requirement: Three weekends out of every six-week schedule; every other holiday
  • Float details: First to float within skillset; cross-campus float may be required with 2 hours notice; mid-shift float within the same campus is expected
  • Unit setting: D500 (32 beds), increasing to 37 in January 2025
  • Additional role considerations: May require precepting of students and new hires; charting checkoff may be required
