Nurse Practitioner, Colorectal & Pelvic Malformation (40 hours)

\n Position Summary/ Department Summary: \n
\n The Colorectal and Pelvic Malformation Center at Boston Children’s specializes in caring for infants, children and adolescents with routine to complex colorectal and pelvic conditions. Our team of pediatric experts from surgery, gastroenterology, urology, and gynecology work together to provide comprehensive and personalized treatment plans for patients and families. The Nurse Practitioner will have clinical, administrative and programmatic responsibilities. The management of some of these patients may involve multidisciplinary care, cross training will be provided in colorectal/pediatric surgery, urology, gynecology and gastroenterology.\n
Key Responsibilities: \n

• Working with the multidisciplinary team to integrate inpatient and outpatient care, implement interventions and support administrative and nursing staff as a clinical resource.
\n
• Assessing and triaging new patients, assisting with obtaining histories and records, ordering appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to streamline and coordinate the intake process.
\n
• Assessing patients’ postoperative progress, as well as work with the bowel management program in initial and follow-up appointments.
\n
• Coordinating care for patients across the continuum from intake to scheduling admissions for surgery and hospital, as well as testing and subsequent follow-ups as necessary.
\n
• Communicating plans to team and family.
\n
• Participating in leading patient clinical discussions during intake meetings, draft case summary for physician review, and prepare multidisciplinary recommendations for referring physicians and families. Potential to teach certain procedures to the family in conjunction with the nursing team.

• Conducting telehealth visits.
\n
• Working 40 hours per week: Four 10-hour shifts; Monday through Friday

Minimum Qualifications \n
Education: \n

\n
• A Master’s Degree in Nursing
\n

Experience: \n

\n
• At least 3 years RN or 1 year NP Pediatric experience
\n
• Excellent communication skills, be organized and self-directed, highly motivated and able to lead as well as participate in a team environment.
\n

Licensure/ Certifications: \n
\n A current MA license to practice as a certified Nurse Practitioner\n

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
