Further Processing Operatives 4 on 4 off A and B shift days

Job Purpose:Take responsibility for the operation of the slicing machine whilst working as part of a production team in the manufacture of products that exceed customer expectations whilst adhering to all required standards, meeting, and exceeding quality standards, achieving targets on time and in full, within budget behaving in a safe manner, ensuring Food Safety and maintaining hygiene standards.Main DutiesArrive at workstation to commence slicing 15 minutes before start of shiftOperate just in time process ensuring material is available to minimise changeovers and downtimeEnsure log conditioning is to the correct standard prior to loading machine; including facing up of the logs.Control product giveawayMaintain and adhere to Food Safety standards at all timesFollow all Good Manufacturing Practices such as :Hand washing, Support other areas of manufacturing when directedPPE requirement, Changing procedures ,Clean as you goComply with all hygiene standards, Only operate equipment, machinery, and tools where training has been providedAdhere to all quality standardsFollow all Standard Operating proceduresAchieve the production planParticipate in multiskilling through job rotationSupport other areas of manufacturing when directed, Complete paperwork accurately and at time of checks, Provide support and mentoring to new colleaguesAlways maintain standards of conduct and performance in the workplace including time keeping and following absence reporting procedureAny other reasonable requestRequirements, Experience and Person Specification:Previous manufacturing experience preferredSuccessful completion or willing to undertake training in L2 Food Safety and L2 Health and Safety PrinciplesGroup and site induction.Understanding of relevant risk assessments and trained as competent to safe working proceduresUnderstanding and application of hazard identification and near miss reportingMechanical aptitude, Forward thinking and planning skills, ReliableAbility to work within a team, Attention to detail and Meets QVIP values
