This role involves providing specialized care within an outpatient oncology unit, supporting patients through various cancer treatments and procedures. Candidates must bring their California RN license on the first day of work. The position involves working a daily 8‑hour shift with variable start times, and adherence to all vaccination requirements is mandatory. Job Details Location: San Francisco, California Shift: 8‑hour days with variable start times, minimum of 40 hours per week Required Qualifications: California RN license, minimum 3 years of experience in outpatient oncology, completed references available at submission, and certifications including American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), American Society of Oncology Nursing (APHON), Chemo (Oncology Nursing Society/ONCC), Certified Pediatric Oncology Nurse (CPHON), Certified Pediatric Oncology Nurse (CPON), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Preferred Qualifications: Experience with inpatient oncology, inpatient and pediatric oncology, radiation oncology procedures, and neoadjuvant therapy. Required Skills: Managing ports, administering chemotherapy, radiation safety precautions, managing side effects such as nausea, neuropathy, hemorrhage, and maintaining skin integrity; accessing ports, managing tumor lysis syndrome, administering medications, monitoring lab values, and providing wound care. Experience: Minimum 3 years in outpatient oncology, proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) using Epic. Additional Information: Must be able to float to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius. Completed modules pre‑start and annually, ranging between 1 to over 24 hours, are required. Travel pairs are allowed but generally not on the same unit.
