Description
The Teller II conducts transactions with speed, accuracy, and efficiency, meeting or exceeding service quality standards while safeguarding bank assets assigned to them. This role contributes to the bank's growth by promoting and cross-selling bank products and services.
Essential duties and responsibilities include receiving and paying out cash, handling negotiable items, loan payments, deposits, withdrawals, and transfers. The Teller II sets up, closes, and balances the teller station, records sales of monetary instruments, maintains a neat and well-stocked teller area, and cross-sells bank products and services. They follow limits established for protection of customer accounts and bank safety and soundness, adhere to bank policies and procedures, and assist with balancing Vault, ATM, Night Drop, Coin Machine as assigned. They also assist with proper scanning of bank documents and proof work, exercise judgment when applying holds and making check cashing decisions, and cross-train to be available to open basic new consumer accounts. The Teller II must be flexible in availability for work schedule, maintain a positive, friendly, and professional attitude and appearance, and perform miscellaneous duties as assigned. They must complete required BSA/AML and other required compliance training as assigned, lift coin bags up to 50 lbs, and work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. They may be required to work an alternative location within the region or market as needed.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and experience: Mental alertness and adaptability to office and field area work routines. Equivalent to four years high school or GED, with particular emphasis during high school in office skills, shop skills, or others, plus 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers. Ability to perform these mathematical skills using money and other forms of measurement.
Critical thinking skills: Ability to use common sense understanding in order to carry out simple multi-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with limited variables.

Software skills required: Basic: 10-Key, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing
