Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 hour Days, Every Other Weekend, First to Float Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Advanced EKG dysrhythmia course Description: Unit Notes: Unit Type: ICU/CCU Bed Capacity: 12 beds each for CCU and ICU Ratios: 1 to 1 or 1 to 2 Charting System: Meditech Charge Nurse: Yes, with no patient assignments Nurse Aides: No Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Holidays: Work them in with permanent staff rotation Scrub Color: Navy Tele/Monitor Techs: GE, monitor tech available with high census, RN's read and interpret strips Drips: Cardizem, Diprivan, Amiodarone, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Fentanyl, Versed Ventilators: Yes Clientist or Intensivist: No, all independent physicians IV Team: No Respiratory Therapy: 24/7 available Pharmacy: 24/7 available Shift Details: 12 hour shifts, 7 AM to 7 PM Floating Policy: All staff will float between ICU and CCU, and possibly telemetry Orientation: Floor-specific orientation includes 2-3 shifts on unit, additional shifts if floating to telemetry or emergency department Common Diagnoses / Types of Patients: ICU Patients: Sepsis, Congestive Heart Failure, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Ventilated patients CCU Patients: Balloon pumps, post catheterization care, open heart surgeries, lobectomies, thrombectomies, spinal patients (1 to 1 for first 6 hours) Travelers cannot take any patients with open hearts or balloon pumps Cancellation Policy: Client may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment Trauma Level: Not specified Care Setting: Acute Division: Nursing Shift Notes: 12 hour Days, Every Other Weekend, First to Float Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
