Overview Job Title: Grounds Maintenance Worker (Groundskeeper) – Full Time Location: Kidron Bethel Village, North Newton, KS 67117 Level: Entry Education Level: Prefer High School grad or GED Salary: $15.00 Hourly Job Shift: Day (Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm) Responsibilities Operate and maintain all types of mowing and edging equipment, including gas-powered walk-behind and ride-on mowers; perform scheduled or required maintenance on equipment Mow, trim, and edge around trees, plant beds, sidewalks, and parking lots Plant, trim, mow, edge, irrigate, fertilize, manage pests, and perform detail work on landscape elements (grass, trees, shrubs, annuals and perennials) Mix and apply chemicals used in groundskeeping using proper methods and wear appropriate personal protective equipment Provide general campus maintenance and repairs by installing/removing landscape lighting, signs, gates, fences, and other landscape materials Perform irrigation installation and maintenance; schedule drip irrigation installation Remove trash and debris from public areas; sweep streets, sidewalks, and parking lots Assist with snow/ice removal from walkways and driveways using shovels, snow blowers, and tractors with blade; apply sand, grit, or salt Maintain maintenance logs for watering and chemical applications, including date, time, area, duration, type of chemical, wind speed and direction Perform hour tracking and inventory management as designated by supervisor Qualifications and Experience Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age Prefer one year of experience in groundskeeping, including planting, cultivating, and trimming trees, shrubs, ground cover, flowers and grasses Prefer prior experience operating and maintaining electrical or gasoline-powered lawn and turf equipment Prefer prior experience in handling and proper disposal of chemicals used in groundskeeping, horticulture and turf management Must have a valid KS driver’s license and meet Bluestem driving requirements Physical Requirements Medium work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly. #J-18808-Ljbffr
