Medical Technologist/Medical Lab TechnicianAiken Regional Medical Centers, located in Aiken, South Carolina, is a 273-bed acute care facility providing top quality and safe healthcare to the residents of Aiken and surrounding communities since 1917. Additionally, Aiken Regional provides comprehensive healthcare services such as behavioral health, emergency medical care, orthopedic surgeries, maternity, rehabilitation services, imaging, and wound care.Medical Lab Technologist Provides examination of and test performance on human specimens for the purpose of obtaining information for the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of patients, or for providing information to others who diagnose and treat patients. This position is responsible for specimen processing, test performance and results reporting under the supervision of a Medical Technologist.Duties: Assist the Leads and lab management in projects assigned as appropriate Communicates critical values and delays to customers in timely manner Completes CLIA required annual competencies Actively participates and maintains always survey readiness. Perform and reviews PT samples and results required by accreditation and compliance Follows proper QC, calibration procedures and corrective actions appropriately Assists in the orientation and training of new and current lab associates as appropriate Communicates with lab leadership on concerns affecting lab operations, quality and errors. Monitors pending workload and communicates effectively as needed Attends staff meetings in person or virtually Assists with specimen processing to include order entry and/or registration. Work experience requirements: Clinical experience under a licensed Pathologist. New graduates are welcome with clinical rotation training.
