Position Summary

Responsible for cleaning the required number of rooms to ensure compliance with established organizational standards.

Hours: Saturday and Sunday 9am - 3pm

Essential Job Functions

• Cleans designated areas assigned to you according to your schedule. Rooms included but are not limited to bathrooms, patient rooms, non-patient areas, isolated areas, surgical rooms, exam rooms and offices. Cleaning consists of but not limited to wiping down all surfaces, emptying garbage, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing inside windows, cleaning sinks and toilets.
• Maintains knowledge of all chemicals used in Housekeeping and how to adequately use each one. Operates and properly maintains all cleaning machines. Follows safe and proper lifting and carrying techniques. Recognizes and reports hazardous and/or unsafe conditions
• Demonstrates teamwork through collaboration, working well with others, concern for co-workers, and a team approach to accomplishing service and quality. Maintains a good working relationship with co-workers and immediate supervisors as well as with other departments. Deals well with constructive criticism. Takes the initiative to accept responsibility in organizing new or difficult assignments.
• Presents self in a professional manner and enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops. Seeks opportunities for continued growth and performance improvement. Always maintains a professional appearance and manner. Maintains dependability and completes work in a timely manner. Demonstrates an understanding and emphasis on quantity, quality and knowledge of duties and tasks.
• Compliance with rules and regulations of all applicable federal, state and local laws as well as Howard County Medical Center policies.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Prior housekeeping experience preferred
