Multi-Site Operations Leader — Metal Stamping & FabricationReports to: Vice President of ManufacturingMission: Lead the day-to-day performance of two Phoenix Stamping Group facilities, owning operational processes and metrics that drive safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people development.A day in the lifeYou start on the floor, scanning visual boards, confirming production schedules align with customer demand and inventory targets. Safety walk completed, you chair a quick stand-up to review OEE trends, OTD risks, and variable labor against the P&L. Before lunch, you meet with Maintenance about a press brake PM, check progress on a facility layout change for a new robotic welder cell, and green-light contractor schedules. Afternoon is for coaching Supervisors and Leads, reviewing quality metrics, closing out root causes, and queuing Quick and Easy Kaizen (QEK) ideas for the quarter. You finish by validating ERP-driven capacity plans and confirming cycle count accuracy in shipping/receiving.What you will leadPlant Operations: Direct Production, Maintenance, Tooling, and Material Handling to meet or outperform safety, quality, cost, and delivery objectives across two sites.Safety & Compliance: Champion the safety program, drive root-cause/corrective actions, coordinate statutory training, and uphold 6S and EHS standards.Scheduling & Throughput: Build and monitor schedules to match demand and inventory goals; influence OEE to boost OTD, plant output, and optimize variable labor on the P&L.Materials & Logistics: Oversee shipping/receiving, inventory management (including cycle counts), and material handling equipment maintenance.Quality Management: Audit adherence to standard work and process control plans; review quality metrics, remove root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.People Development: Assess staffing levels; hire, coach, and evaluate Supervisors, Leads, and hourly teams; design operator training with the right subject-matter experts.Continuous Improvement: Advance Lean practices, 6S, visual factory, and the QEK program; insist on data-driven problem solving.Capital & Layout: Coordinate equipment installations and facility layout projects, managing on-site and contractor resources to plan.Financial Stewardship: Own relevant parts of the plant P&L, budgeting and managing operating expenses to plan.Cross-Functional Alignment: Liaise with other departments to enable operational changes and communicate project timelines and deliverables.Standards & Ethics: Ensure alignment with quality management requirements, health and safety, environmental policies, legal stipulations, and company ethical standards.How success will be measuredSafety Recordables (RIR)OEE improvementContinuous Improvement activity (6S, QEK)Quality metrics (COPQ)On-Time Delivery (OTD)Operating Expense vs. BudgetGross Margin %QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience5+ years of supervisory leadership in manufacturingBackground in metal stamping and metal fabrication preferredStrong Lean manufacturing knowledgeProven P&L acumen to drive financial performanceQuality systems experience (ISO 9001:2015 preferred)Advanced analytical, organizational, and computer skills, including Excel data analysis and ERP reportingDemonstrated ability to plan and schedule within ERPExceptional communication and leadership capabilitiesCore strengthsLeadership / People ManagementContinuous ImprovementStandard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Supervisory ExperienceOSHA 10-Hour Certification (OSHA 10)Production OptimizationLean Manufacturing PrinciplesCoaching and MentoringOperational Metrics & KPI ManagementERP & MRP SystemsProduction Planning & SchedulingInventory Management & ControlWorkplace Safety & EHS ManagementScheduling ExperienceBudgeting / ForecastingEquipment and systems you’ll encounterMIG WelderThread Gauges (GO/NO-GO)CNC Laser CutterPunch PressPress BrakeStamping PressCold Heading MachineRobotic WelderERP SoftwareCalipers and MicrometersIndustrial Robot #J-18808-Ljbffr Torrey Holistics
