Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Must have NC or compact license Certifications: Basic Life Support Must-Have Skills/Experience: Cerner experience IV competency Description: Travelers must start on specific dates. The facility has 355 beds and includes various specialized centers. There is a 32-bed emergency department and multiple inpatient and surgical units. The unit consists of 18 beds with a patient ratio of 1:6. Equipment includes Baxter IV pumps and PCA pumps. The electronic health record system used is Cerner. The supervisor oversees a patient population of adults and geriatrics. Common diagnoses/treatments include: COPD exacerbation GI bleed Diabetic complications Wound care Pancreatitis Sickle cell crisis End-of-life care/hospice Falls Weakness Sepsis Infection The ideal candidate is a team player and a strong patient advocate. This is a busy floor, so the ability to keep up is essential. Required education includes either an associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing. Dress code allows for any scrub color.
