Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant (Immediate Start) | North Houston | $35-$43/hr.
Our client in North Houston needs a Staff Accountant who can start Monday. This is a contract opportunity with the potential to convert to a permanent position based on performance and business needs.
If you have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and hands-on experience supporting month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and journal entries, we want to speak with you immediately.
What You'll Be Doing
- Support monthly and year-end accounting activities
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances
- Assist with accruals and financial statement support schedules
- Monitor cash activity and perform cash-related analysis
- Review transactions for proper accounting treatment
- Support internal controls and audit documentation
- Partner with operations, payroll, and other business units
- Analyze financial data and provide reporting support
- Help maintain accurate and timely financial records
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
- 1+ years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of financial statements and general ledger accounting
- Experience with month-end close processes
- Advanced Excel skills
- ERP experience required; Oracle Fusion experience is highly preferred
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Compensation
$35.00 - $43.00/hour
