Senior Implementation Analyst Location: Manchester (also available in Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Reading, Portsmouth) Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time Grade: Senior Consultant Office: Hybrid About the Role Our teams provide a range of pension administration services to trust‑based company schemes, including defined benefit, defined contribution, career average revalued earnings and hybrid schemes. This role operates within Implementation Services (IST), supporting XPS Administration’s technical, IT and specialist expertise. Key Responsibilities Meeting the business requirements and implementation needs of clients accurately and timely in accordance with agreed standards. Expanding knowledge within the discipline through collaboration with internal and external colleagues. Identifying and analysing data queries to ensure data is held correctly for all workstreams. Gathering and documenting requirements from initiation through the project lifecycle. Analyzing and interpreting data sets, scheme documentation, trustee/lawyer and actuarial instructions; producing process diagrams, mapping documentation, user stories and functional specifications. Working with clients to understand requirements and translate them into formal documentation/specifications. Producing clear testing strategies and carrying out sufficient testing to ensure high‑quality output. Working with stakeholders to identify functional changes required to meet business needs and documenting them formally. Supporting and mentoring colleagues within Data Services and wider teams. Assisting the Implementations Manager in driving best practice within the Data Services team. Leading analysis of solutions or standards and presenting through technical forums or client projects. Providing leadership within the analyst community for technical matters and supporting knowledge transfer and mentorship across the team. Performing other related activities as required by the business. Essential Requirements Proven experience working within a pension administration team or system support position in the pensions industry, covering DB/DC/CARE/Public Sector/Master Trust arrangements. Experience with common pension administration systems and third‑party IT suppliers (e.g., PenScope, Compendia, ProFund). Proficient knowledge of benefit structures for DB, DC and hybrid schemes. Excellent organisational and planning skills. Ability to work as part of a multi‑disciplined team, influencing decisions where priorities conflict. Ability to multi‑task and respond to changing priorities. Ownership and responsibility, including active contribution. Flexible approach to work pressures. Good problem‑solving skills and lateral thinking. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in documentation. Strong belief in adhering to deadlines and quality service. Customer‑focused delivery approach, exceeding expectations. IT proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel. Desirable Requirements Understanding of programming languages such as SQL and/or C#. Strong A‑Level qualifications (or equivalent). Strong stakeholder management skills. Strong written, verbal and presentation skills to all levels. Ability to articulate complex messages with clarity and adapt style as required. Experience creating and managing documentation. Effective interpersonal skills; ability to build long‑term relationships at all levels. Understanding of methodologies used in software development and support (Agile, Waterfall, ITIL). Experience driving change and improvement, adaptable to feedback.
