Job Title: Warehouse Inventory Specialist

Job Description

This role focuses on accurately receiving, tracking, and moving materials within a climate-controlled warehouse while maintaining an organized environment and supporting shipping activities as needed. You will use inventory management systems, material handling equipment, and scanning tools to ensure products are processed efficiently and correctly throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

• Receive inbound goods and verify that shipments match accompanying documentation.
• Check and identify all incoming materials to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Input material data into the Inventory Management (MRP) system in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintain up-to-date inventory and location records within the warehouse.
• Manage inventory movement throughout the facility to support production and order fulfillment.
• Perform weekly cycle counts of selected inventory items to ensure stock accuracy.
• Act as a backup to the shipping function when needed to support workflow.
• Pack and prepare customer orders for shipping according to established procedures.
• Use RF scanners and other scanning devices to pick, track, and confirm inventory transactions.
• Pick, pack, and stage orders accurately using pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
• Load and unload materials and finished goods safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and highly organized warehouse at all times.
• Follow all logistics, inventory control, and general labor procedures to support smooth warehouse operations.

Essential Skills

• 2–3 years of warehouse experience.
• Ability to count accurately up to at least 100.
• Experience with inventory control processes (1 year preferred).
• Experience with shipping and receiving functions (at least 1 year preferred).
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs safely and repeatedly as needed.
• Proficiency operating a forklift (FL) and pallet jack.
• Hands-on experience with inventory management and logistics activities.
• Ability to use RF scanners and other scanning tools for picking and inventory tracking.
• Strong attention to detail when receiving, picking, packing, and documenting materials.
• Capability to work efficiently in a warehouse environment and follow established procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing facility is strongly preferred over strictly distribution experience.
• Experience with an Inventory Management or MRP system.
• Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and packaging best practices.
• Experience with order picking, loading, unloading, and general labor tasks in a warehouse setting.
• Ability to maintain high levels of organization in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong work ethic and reliability in attendance and performance.

Work Environment

This position is based in a climate-controlled warehouse operating on a 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. schedule. You will work with inventory management (MRP) systems, RF scanners, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other standard warehouse and packaging equipment. The role involves standing, walking, lifting up to 75 lbs, loading and unloading materials, and performing general labor tasks. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization throughout the facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, MO.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
