Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our team. This role is ideal for an adaptable and dedicated nursing professional with a passion for maternal and neonatal care.

Assignment Details

• Assignment Length: 13 or 26 Weeks
• Start Date: ASAP
• Shifts: 3x12 or 4x12 Nights
• Guaranteed Hours: 60 Hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for 1, 12-hour shift per 2 weeks)
• Weekend Requirements: Yes - every other
• Floating: Potential to float to like units as needed
• Block Schedule: Not available
• Local Candidates: Not accepted - candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility

Unit Information

The Labor and Delivery unit features:

• 10 OB Triage Rooms
• 10 Labor, Delivery, Recovery (LDR) Rooms
• 3 Operating Room Suites
• 4 Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Rooms

This unit manages high-risk deliveries with an average of 7 daily deliveries; however, the patient load may increase with inductions and high-risk antepartum cases. The OB Triage averages 4-5 third-trimester testing patients daily, along with additional triage patients as they present.

Qualifications

• Licensure: Must have Alaska RN license in hand for an auto offer; pending licenses accepted but must obtain the license prior to starting.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Labor and Delivery required; first-time travelers accepted.
• Certifications Required:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) Intermediate and Advanced
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Skills: Charge experience preferred, but training will be provided if necessary.
