Graduate Nurse Trauma ICU August 2026 Graduates

Eligibility Graduate of an accredited nursing program Eligible to practice as determined by the State Board of Nursing Less than one year of experience working as an RN Job Summary Licensed new graduate nurse for the Trauma ICU at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital who actively participates in the Saint Louis University Hospital New Graduate Nurse Residency Program. Provides professional nursing care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, delegation, and monitoring of care activities in accordance with professional nursing standards. Responsible for delivering age‑appropriate care for assigned patients with a wide variety of medical conditions. Job Responsibilities Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and document findings accurately. Establish, coordinate, and evaluate individualized plans of care based on assessment data, laboratory results, and physician orders. Collaborate with the health‑team to ensure coordinated care and effective communication, including accurate hand‑off reports. Administer medications and care interventions accurately, monitor IV therapy, and document all interventions. Provide patient and family education and discharge planning, incorporating evidence‑based practice. Follow infection control protocols, including hand hygiene and safe patient‑handling practices. Recognize changes in patient status, respond appropriately, and notify the attending physician as needed. Job Specifications Minimum Education: RN licensure in the State of Missouri, or new graduate of an accredited nursing school and must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation. Working Conditions: Exposure to bloodborne diseases, unpredictable situations, irregular hours, and emergency or crisis situations. Physical Requirements: Prolonged standing/walking, occasional lifting and transfers, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
