We are looking for an experienced Attorney/Lawyer to support a law firm in Tallahassee, Florida with matters involving land use, planning, and local government law. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for a licensed attorney with at least 3 years of experience who brings strong legal writing, analytical thinking, and research capabilities. The role focuses on producing well-supported legal work product and advising on regulatory and governmental issues in a fast-paced legal environment.Responsibilities:• Conduct in-depth legal research related to land use, zoning, planning, and local government matters.• Prepare a wide range of legal documents, including memoranda, motions, responses, briefs, and detailed correspondence.• Analyze statutes, ordinances, case law, and regulatory guidance to support client matters and legal strategy.• Develop clear, persuasive written work product for internal review, court filings, and other legal proceedings.• Assist with issues involving government regulation and legislative research as they affect active matters.• Review case-specific facts and legal authorities to identify risks, arguments, and practical recommendations.• Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to advance deadlines, filings, and matter-related deliverables.• Contribute informed legal analysis that supports planning and zoning matters before local governmental bodies.
