Working Conditions


May be subject to working nights, weekends, or holidays. Extended travel away from assigned headquarters is required. Possession of a valid Class A with Tank vehicle endorsement issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles. May travel out of town on per diem for assigned work, training, meetings and other job related duites. Required to work in wide range of environmental conditions, including heat up to 120 degrees, cold to 20 degrees.


Maintains the Arduous Fitness Standard in accordance with Department policy. The incumbent is required to wear respiratory protection equipment, including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). As such, The Division of Occupational Safety and Health of California (CALOSHA) requires the incumbent to be annually medically cleared to be fit tested for respiratory protection equipment.
