Overview The City of Hemet City Council, located in Riverside County, is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic professional to join this well‑managed organization. This key position requires an effective, hands‑on manager for a staff of 376.4 FTEs and oversight of a combined 2025‑26 budget of $149million. The City Manager must bring strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, along with a passion for public service and an inclusive, hands‑on management style. A thorough understanding of municipal finance, budgeting, and community planning is essential. This opportunity results from the retirement of the incumbent. Qualifications Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with major coursework in public administration or a closely related field, is required. A master’s degree is preferred. Experience: At least 10years of progressively responsible administrative or managerial experience, especially in a public agency or a larger city. Experience as a City Manager, Assistant or Deputy City Manager, or a Department Head is highly regarded. Current or prior California public agency experience is a significant advantage. Compensation and Benefits The salary for the previous City Manager was $315,588 annually. The current annual salary is open and negotiable and will depend on qualifications.
