Litigation Paralegal

What we are looking for: We are currently looking for an experienced Litigation Paralegal for our Charleston, SC office. We are looking for an organized, personable, and detail‑oriented professional with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn and adapt in a fast‑paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a background in legal research, file management, and possess excellent communication skills. The Paralegal will assist the attorney by providing clerical and research support services including document preparation and review; communicating with clients and witnesses; research, investigation, fact checking; and trial preparation. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Review and draft routine legal documents Create, organize and maintain legal files and documents Facilitate the meeting of attorney's deadlines by keeping organized schedules and providing timely reminders Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and experts for case preparation Review and summarize depositions, transcripts, and other records Conduct legal research on various case laws and statutes Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, and motions Assist in trial preparation and attend trials when necessary Ideal Qualifications: Ideal experience 2+ years Excellent verbal and written communication skills Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters Proficiency in proofreading legal documents for accuracy and completeness Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Experience with Lexis-Nexis or other legal research tools A self‑starter who takes initiative to complete daily tasks A diligent and personable team player The firm offers a competitive compensation plan including quarterly bonuses based on performance.
