Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/28/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel RN – PCU / Stepdown Location: Overland Park, KS 66213 Specialty: PCU Shift: Nights | 3×12 Hours | 6:45 PM–7:15 AM Ratio: 1:5 Contract: Travel Locals: Not accepted – must live 75 miles away First-Time Travelers: Accepted Call: None Requirements 1–2 years of RN experience BLS & NIHSS required ACLS preferred Active Missouri or Compact RN license Strong MS/Tele, Cardiac Telemetry & Neuro Stepdown experience Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition/management Pre/Post cardiac cath experience Experience with NIH Stroke Scale Experience with sepsis, wound care, ETOH, SI, renal failure, AFib, GIB, stroke and COVID Preferred Skills Central line care/management Port access Blood product administration Feeding tube care Sheath removal Schedule & Floating 8 weekend shifts every 6 weeks (Friday/Saturday/Sunday combination) Holiday coverage as needed Float Pool position: No permanent home unit Will float across approximately 5 Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU units and potentially other Metro campuses No block scheduling Special Equipment/Systems Virtual Nurses, 12-lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte and Omnicell Important: This is a highly flexible Float Pool PCU position , so candidates must be comfortable floating between multiple units and facilities.
