Maintenance DirectorAt ALIYA, we're committed to providing a safe, comfortable, and clean environment for our residents. As the Maintenance Director, you'll be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the overall operation of the Maintenance Department, ensuring that our facility is well-maintained and up-to-code.Duties and Responsibilities:Plan, develop, and implement maintenance programs to ensure the facility is maintained in a safe and comfortable mannerCoordinate maintenance services and activities with other related departmentsAssist in establishing a preventive maintenance program and repair facility/resident property as necessarySupervise safety and fire protection programs, ensuring compliance with established regulationsEnsure maintenance personnel follow established safety regulations and use proper equipment and suppliesCoordinate daily housekeeping/laundry services with nursing servicesPerform administrative duties, including completing reports, evaluations, and studiesDevelop and participate in training programs for maintenance personnelEnsure confidentiality of resident care information and report any unauthorized disclosureQualifications:High school education or equivalent requiredMinimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a maintenance/environmental services related positionExperience with long-term care facilities preferredKnowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systemsAbility to read and interpret blueprintsAbility to follow written and oral instructionsKnowledge of building codes and safety regulationsAbility to read, write, speak, and understand the English languageAbility to make independent decisions and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, and the general publicPhysical Demands:Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workdayMust be able to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agenciesMust be able to meet general health requirements, including a medical and physical examinationMust be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the facilityMust be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum of 50 feetWork Environment: ALIYA of Highwood is an equal opportunity employer.
