GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Join the Wyoming State Fair Team as a full‑time Facility Maintenance & Operations Support Team Member. The Wyoming State Fairgrounds and Event Complex is seeking an energetic, dependable, and motivated individual to support the year‑round operations of one of Wyoming’s largest public event facilities. Spanning 137 acres and more than 60 structures, the Fairgrounds hosts over 400 event days annually in addition to the annual Wyoming State Fair. This position plays a vital role in maintaining facility readiness, supporting events, and preserving State assets through preventative and routine maintenance. Responsibilities include venue setup and teardown, janitorial support, event preparation, groundskeeping, and assisting with maintenance projects across the campus. The role directly supports the success of the annual Wyoming State Fair and a wide variety of interim events including livestock shows, rodeos, banquets, weddings, trade shows, conventions, concerts, community events, and more. Because of its event‑driven nature, evenings, overtime, weekends, holidays, and extended hours may be required throughout the year.BENEFITS

Prepare venues for events on a year‑round basis, including equine events, public and private rentals, banquets, fundraisers, livestock events, weddings, and community gatherings. Assist with event setup and teardown, moving tables, chairs, staging, livestock panels, bleachers, barriers, and other event equipment. Perform janitorial services and sanitation duties to ensure facilities remain clean, safe, and guest‑ready. Assist with preventative and general maintenance across the 137‑acre campus and 60 structures. Support fair‑time operations including layout preparation, barn setup, special projects, maintenance response, and fair teardown. Perform groundskeeping duties: mowing, trimming, weed control, irrigation maintenance, snow removal, and seasonal cleanup. Operate heavy and light equipment such as tractors, skid steers, forklifts, lawn equipment, ATVs, utility vehicles, and other maintenance equipment. Assist with plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanical maintenance, and general repairs as assigned. Perform regular building inspections and report maintenance concerns. Help maintain a safe and healthy environment for guests, exhibitors, staff, and event participants. Attend training and meetings as required.PREFERENCES
Basic understanding of routine and preventative maintenance. Experience with event setup, custodial work, groundskeeping, or facility operations. Ability to operate or willingness to learn operation of maintenance and grounds equipment. Experience working in customer‑service oriented environments. Current CDL license (preferred, but not mandatory).REQUIREMENTS
Must be 18 years of age of older in order to operate any and all equipment, including power‑driven machines. Must hold a valid Wyoming driver’s license. High School Diploma or equivalent (required). 0–2 years of progressive work experience in building and grounds maintenance, or 1–3 years with equivalent experience. No required certificates, licenses, or registrations.KNOWLEDGE
State and facility policies and procedures. Power and manual tools. Sprinkler systems and irrigation equipment.PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Exposure to hazardous materials, bodily fluids, chemicals, bio‑hazards, and potential explosives. Perform heavy, manual labor lifting objects up to 100 pounds or more. Exposure to variable weather conditions and working around dust, rain, wind, snow, manure, and animals.NOTES
FLSA: Non‑exempt. Must pass a background information check, including fingerprinting. Must be able to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and overtime as required. Overtime rate will be paid time and a half for hours over forty in the State of Wyoming work week. Must be able to work long hours/days/nights during the annual Wyoming State Fair in August. Must be able to interact with large and small groups of people to meet their needs in the customer‑service area.CONTACT
