Production Supervisor I Job Summary: The Production Supervisor I supports the daily operation of the production floor on the assigned shift, leading Production Team Members to meet production goals while following safety, quality, and food safety standards. This is a developmental role for a hands‑on leader with food manufacturing experience who is ready to grow into full supervisory responsibility. The Production Supervisor I works under the direction of the Production Manager and in close collaboration with the QA Department to uphold GMPs and SQF certification requirements while maintaining an efficient and organized workflow. Key Responsibilities: Personnel & Production Management: Lead and direct Production Team Members on the assigned shift, with guidance and coaching from the Production Manager. Work with Production Leads to communicate daily goals, expectations, and work assignments. Follow and enforce GMPs, food safety, and allergen control practices in partnership with the QA Department. Monitor product flow in the Prep, Batching, and Kitchen areas and elevate delays, equipment issues, or material shortages to the Production Manager. Verify that batching is performed according to approved recipes and formulation guidelines, and that batch records are complete and accurate. Support the accurate and on‑time completion of outbound orders. Ensure sanitation practices are followed and work areas are kept clean, organized, and free of debris. Train new Production Team Members on procedures, GMPs, and safe work practices. Complete and review production documentation (production records, checklists, and logs) accurately and on time. Report safety concerns, incidents, and food safety deviations immediately to the QA Department and Production Manager. Production Planning: Help organize production areas, materials, and personnel according to the production schedule provided by the Production Manager. Assign tasks within the Prep, Batching, and Kitchen areas to meet daily targets, adjusting as needed with Production Manager approval. Training & Development: Complete company GMP, food safety, and SQF awareness training within the first 90 days of employment. Participate in HACCP training and other development activities as assigned. Build skills in production planning, team leadership, and performance management, with the goal of advancing to Production Supervisor. Qualifications & Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred. 1–2 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment. Experience as a Production Lead, Team Lead, or in a similar role leading people is preferred. Basic knowledge of GMPs and food safety; knowledge of SQF or HACCP is a plus. Good communication and organizational skills, with a willingness to learn and take ownership. Ability to follow written procedures and complete documentation accurately. Basic computer skills (email, Microsoft Excel or similar). Bilingual English–Spanish preferred. Work Environment: Fast-paced food manufacturing facility. Standing, walking, and moving for extended periods.
